Here Comes Summer!

This past week I enjoyed my first ever full vacation during the busy season of flower farming. I even set a few boundaries on email and messaging responses. I had a wonderful, trusted employee, Sarah, conducting the band while I was gone and she did a great job. So if you stopped by the flower cottage or farm stand this weekend, thank you! I’m sorry I missed you but I had a beautiful time in Nashville. The second trip is already in the works for the off season.

As for the farm June is more of a busy behind the scenes month. It is the time for us to wrap up planting dahlias and seedlings and weed, weed, weed! Keeping ahead of weeds, bugs, and disease in June is the key to having a flourishing garden come July, August, and September. So anticipate a the first weekend in July for the beginning of U-Picks. Until then our farm stand is open every Thursday - Sunday Sunup to Sundown and we have a few other stem bar opportunities this June and a spontaneous Yoga Among the Blooms come June 11! The regular schedule starts July 2nd.

Lakes area in the summer has the best events for kids! I put together a list of ones I wouldn’t want to miss out on! Feel free to print it out and share. Think of some I missed? Submit it to our form and I’ll add it on!
