Smiling Babies and Fresh Air.
What a busy beautiful week. I feel as though we went from the dead of winter to the middle of June in two weeks! It has a left us in a dash to get fields prepped and the cold hardy plants in. It’s also Mother’s Day week and prepping the beautiful Rising Dawn vases and other orders has kept me moving too!
Even though it is busy it feel so good to get my hands in the dirt and a little sunburn on my cheeks. My three kids have been tagging along beside me almost every day. As with so many things they bring a little different perspective. I typically feel like the redneck cousin up north that is trying to flower farm on a sandy side hill while all the real flower farmers (who I love and respect dearly) are down south farming in beautiful black dirt and straight rows. This time of year is especially hard, they are shuffling around armfuls of tulips while I am waiting on my first one to bloom. Imposter syndrome speaking! Having the Della, Wells, and True with me keep me 1. to busy for too much social media strolling; 2. Focused on things like “ Herman the Worm” and other things through a childs eyes.
Opening weekend at the farm stand is May 19th! Stop by and grab the very first tulip bunches of the season.
Our “Grow Your Own Dahlia” Workshops are next week as well! Anticipate an email this weekend if you are signed up.
