Coming In Hot!

The whole essence of True Blue Flower Co. is to encourage you to care for you. Wether that is providing you a space for self care, encouraging you to connect with nature, and taking the veil off and allowing you all to come in on this journey of growing flowers, babies, and doing a little growing myself!

These last few weeks I have been doing a little reflection and have realized the plan I had in mind might not be the one I can commit to anymore. It has left me in a state of wanting to make sure I follow through with commitments but knowing deep down these commitments impede on the most valuable things to me.

It’s a tricky place - so much value has been put on work ethic and follow through and being a person of your word. I agree that all of these things are so valuable and should be prioritized. But part of me wonders if these values have begun to rank above self care and even caring for our families. We have become scared to even open the dialog of changing our minds in fear of letting down others. Unfortunately the ones that suffer when we follow through with commitments that will put us in overload are ourselves. We have convinced ourselves it’s selfish. But I should be said that letting others down to care for yourself is not selfish.

What I am trying to say is I fully value hard work and following through with all things you said you would do - but I think we need to know where the boundary is about following through on things that you know will overwhelm yourself or put your family on the back burner. You are allowed to change your mind especially when circumstances change. It is not easy saying “I thought I could do XYZ but now that situations have changed I’m not sure I can!” Pivoting is OK in fact it is so good and how you grow and make sure your life is aligning on all fronts.

I left the typical workforce because I wanted to be able to make my decisions based around my and my family’s needs - not based around a companies needs; however, putting businesses first is still very engrained in our behavior! Our circumstances have changed in the last month and that means I am changing a little bit of what my business will look like in the next month or two as well!

🏠🏠🏡🏡🏡 As some of you know in the last 30 days we have unexpectedly purchased our dream homestead and sold our house to the perfect couple. For those of you who do not know we do not live where the flower fields are. That is the house I grew up in and where my dad currently lives.

So what this means for True Blue Flower Co.

🌼The business is NOT moving just me, my husband, our three kids, and the outrageous amount of stuff we have collected in the last few year. We will be out by June 16th!

🌼The main focus while we are moving and settling into our new place will be on farm self-serve style style. Think farm stand pre made bouquets and the option to go into the flower cottage and build your own bouquets until enough flowers are blooming to open field picking.

🌼Workshops are on hold - instead I will be doing an “open studio” type event those nights meaning I will be in the flower cottage with a bunch of flowers and you are welcome to come in an open house style event and I can help you arrange or make a flower crown or whatever or you can just have time to walk around and pick your own flowers. No need to prepay or pre register

🌼I am no longer able to commit to the Bloom Bar at LUXE for June 10th. This discussion was a hard one be but I will not be able to give this event the attention it deserves because we have to be out of our house that week.

🌼I have bulk buckets of blooms and custom arrangements available on our website.

🌼All photo minis and yoga are still very much on!

So - I hope this encourages you to be open about your needs and know that pivoting your commitments is not selfish but a healthy part of a balanced life. Letting people down is a huge fear of mine - but having resentment about following through on things that put yourself into a bad state is even worse. I am soo excited for this move and this business pivot and grateful to all of you for come along on the journey! Encouraging you to take care of yourself is one of my favorite things and sometimes I need to listen to my own advice!
