Working to Bring You Flowers When You Want them Most.

Why am I working hard to find thoughtful, low input ways to bring you home grown tulips for Valentine’s Day, Easter , and Mother’s Day?

Because the journey to get flowers from South America toMiami through customs then to a wholesaler then to your florist and finally to your table before their 7-10 day vase life is up is a a bit extreme.

This year in the THREE weeks leading up to Valentines’ Day 300 cargo planes of flowers came into Miami from Avianca Cargo one of the floral transport companies alone.

There is importance in importing flowers but I think there is value in knowing what goes into getting them to you. To me it’s important to find ways we can do a little better. Becoming a thoughtful source of flowers to you for the holidays you want them most is important to me. A hundred flowers today might not do much but one day a hundred bouquets might. Giving our local florist and community a place for local flowers in early spring is something I look forward to investing more time in!

Below are a few video links that show you how a little more about how and why we are growing early spring flowers at True Blue Flower Co.
