22 Tulips for 22 Year Gone

Three years ago a woman I’d never met shared how tulips gave her a sense of connection to her late mother. She shared how her always called her “Tulip” and how excited she was to bring her daughters who had never met her mother to the see our tulips in bloom. She shared pictures and said how special it was to have a share a few quiet moments in a field full of tulips with her girls. Every year since she has ordered a bouquet in honor of her mom and each year I’m honored to be a part of something so special. This week I once again got to place 22 tulips in a vase to commemorate 22 years without her mother.

To me this represents such a beautiful sense of intention. A bouquet of tulips might seem like a simple thing, but to this customer dear to my heart they hold so much more - connection, remembrance, and bringing the essense of someone so loved with them as life continues on.

Indention and deeper meaning drives so many of the decisions with True Blue Flower Co. Continuing my families ties to farming; adapting and embracing Minnesota’s ecology instead of fighting it; and finding ways to intertwine with our community are really important to me. And being met with so many beautiful stories of intention is something I love being a part of.
