Even If There Are A Few Weeds.

When visiting the flower field the first thing people say is “Wow, It’s so beautiful!” The second thing they say is “But how are you going to keep out all the weeds?” Well let me tell you, I’m not. There are going to be weeds. There are going to be so many weeds. There is also going to be bugs, lots of bugs. There are going to be weeds and bugs and gophers and rows that aren’t straight. But guess what else there will be. There will be flowers. Oh my will there be flowers. There will be flowers and birds and bees and butterflies. There be yoga at sunrise and there will be baby giggles in the shade. There will be a place that people can connect with nature and unwind from the rush of the everyday. There will be a whisper of a dream that became reality, a little place where I decided to believe in myself - even if there are a few weeds.

Dreams don’t have to be perfect. We don’t have to be perfect. Don’t keep yourself from watering your flowers just because it will also feed the weeds.

PLANTS ARE IN THE GROUND, I REPEAT PLANTS ARE IN THE GROUND! What a busy week. Showers and sit down meals have been hard to come by in the last week but we are caught up on planting! I am still waiting to put my heat loving plants in the ground after Memorial Day, but the rest are in! We have a few nights in the 30’s coming this week. I have learned it takes a village to raise a child - especially during planting. True has gotten to be spoiled by grandmas and grandpas and aunts and uncles this week. I am so grateful for their help. Usually he does well out in the field with me but planting requires a lot of my attention, which True is not a fan of. In other exciting news, I picked my first “misfit” bouquet. If feels so good to have fresh flowers in the house again. The beautiful vase is from the Attic Shoppe in Vergas - they have so many great vases! I also took a little time with my friends to do a wine tasting event at Otter Coffee in Vergas. I am so grateful for friends who take time for things like that. And to end the week Payton’s parents came from Berthold, ND to help watch True and build fence! True (and I) was in heaven! They even got to join us for the Vergas Firemen’s Pancake Breakfast. Payton is on the Vergas Fire Department and we are very proud.
